The Tsvetnaya Bolonka is a toy breed.  The standard size for the Tsvetnaya Bolonka is between 9.5 and 10.5 inches in height at the withers.  Weight ranges from 4 to 12 pounds.    The breed standard can be found at the following link:
This breed was developed to be highly people oriented.  As a descendant of the intelligent Bichon Frise family, this breed is people friendly, sensitive, playful, and affectionate.  They make excellent family pets.  Bred to live in small quarters with their human family, these adorable toy dogs can adapt well to apartment living.  They enjoy activity, and relish outdoor time with their pet parents.  Beware of hawks and eagles, though, as some of these Frr-babies are very small.

This little dog is sturdy in build, making it a much more family friendly toy breed.  Unlike may toy dogs, this is not a “yappy” breed, although it will alert you to a door bell... either real or on your favorite TV show.  They are friendly to children, strangers, and unfortunately home invaders.. so if you are looking for a guard dog... this might not be the pet for you.

Your Bolonka baby will chill with you on the sofa, and like their cousins, the Havanese, may fight your cat to sit on the back of your chair.  They are highly intelligent, descending from the Bischon Frise and Bolognese “circus dogs”.

While no dog is truly hypoallergenic, as a member of the Bichon family, they have less dander than the usual dog.  Developed for “wash and wear” capabilities, these little ones require less extensive grooming than most of the other long haired toy breeds.  For the fashion discriminating, check out the Havanese “Colours of the Rainbow” page for color and coat options.

So, is this the breed for you?   If you are looking for a moderately active toy breed companion that is super friendly, a good family pet for older children, and a dog that can live in small spaces, you’ve got a winner.  This is NOT an outdoor dog.  These Bolonka babies will jog with you, they love to run and play, but.... if you are a marathon runner, you may need a purse for the last 12!!   If you are looking for a warm and loving greeting at the end of yet another tough day at the office, and a good oxytocin rush when you kick off your shoes, the Tsvetnaya Bolonka is your kinda dog.
